Shady Oaks POA
Happy spring, Shady Oaks neighbors! The warm weather is finally here, and your POA Board has been busy getting everything lined up for the season ahead. From the upcoming annual meeting to pool prep and our community work day, there's a lot to look forward to — here's what you need to know.
Mark your calendars — our Annual POA Meeting is scheduled for April 9th at 6:30 PM at First Church of The Nazarene, 2300 S. 40th, Springdale, AR 72762. The official agenda is attached, and you'll also spot a reminder sign at the neighborhood entrance in the coming days.
This is your chance to hear updates on the neighborhood, ask questions, and have your voice heard on community matters. As always, members must be current on dues in order to vote at the meeting.
One board member is rotating off this year, so we'll hold an election for a 3-year director term. Proxy information and relevant bylaw excerpts are attached for anyone who can't attend in person or wants to review.
Action Item: Review the attached agenda. Make sure your dues are paid so you're eligible to vote!
Great news — pool prep is officially underway! The board has been coordinating with our pool contractor Caleb to get everything set up and ready for the season. The plan is to drain and refill the pool with fresh water — same approach as last year, which worked well and kept costs in line.
The pool will be unwinterized the Saturday after the POA meeting, and the water system will be turned on beforehand. With this year's unusually warm weather, we're aiming to get things up and running sooner rather than later. We're hopeful that this week's cold snap will be our last freeze of the season!
The official pool opening date is May 23rd.
Our annual Community Work Day is Saturday, May 2nd! This is when we come together to spruce up the common areas, handle seasonal maintenance, and get the neighborhood looking its best for spring and summer.
The board plans to have the water turned on before the work day so we'll have everything we need. More details on specific tasks and timing will be shared closer to the date.
Action Item: Save the date — Saturday, May 2nd — and plan to pitch in! Many hands make light work.
A friendly reminder that annual POA dues must be paid no later than April 30th. Dues keep our neighborhood running — covering pool operations, common area maintenance, utilities, insurance, and more.
If you haven't paid yet, please take care of it before the annual meeting so you're in good standing and eligible to vote.
